Denise Blair

Denise took her first class at the Jan Martin Dance Studio at the age of three…and she never left! Denise has also studied with the Eglevsky Ballet Company. Now the mother of three girls, Denise teaches Tap and Jazz, as well as Combo classes for the younger students.

Alexa Cutrone

Alexa has been dancing since the age of two and competing since the age of eight.  She has trained in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Musical Theater.  Alexa presently  minors in dance at Adelphi University .  She is looking forward to sharing her passion of dance with her JMDS students.

 

 

Lenore Hanes

Lenore joined the faculty at Jan Martin in 1991. She has studied at the Orlando School of Ballet and the Broadway Dance Center. Lenore is the mother of 2 and grandmother of 4. She hopes her students have fun, make new friends, and most of all, feel good about themselves and their accomplishments.

Dana Henneborn

Dana Is a New York based dancer, and instructor who received her Bachelor Of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from the University at Buffalo. Educated, trained and performed professionally in the styles of Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Ballroom and Musical Theatre. Her most recent stage credit was hit musical "Rock of Ages" in Las Vegas. She began her professional career traveling across the globe on cruise ships for Holland America Line produced by Stiletto Entertainment, where she had the opportunity to perform works by Tabitha & Napoleon, Patti Colombo, and Carla Kama. She also worked with such choreographers as John Charron, Jill Hillier, & Gustavo Vargas for the show "Dancing with the Stars at Sea".  Dana has also been seen performing at Caesars Atlantic City, Beaux Rivage Hotel & Casino, Fallsview Hotel & Casino, and many live industrial corporate events on the Las Vegas strip.cAlong with her extensive dance background Dana is also a certified group fitness & pilates instructor. Dana has been educating young dancers around the US for many years & has great insight on what is happening in the dance world today.

 

Nicole Nazzaro

Nicole has been dancing since the age of two.  She has trained in a variety of styles including Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Lyrical, Musical Theater, Hip Hop and Modern.  Growing up on Long Island, NY she was a member of Jan Martin Dance Studio’s competition team for ten years.  She later went on to be a member of her high school kick line team.  Nicole completed her bachelors’ degree in dance therapy and psychology at Manhattenville College.  During her undergraduate career she participated in multiple dance concerts, and performed in pieces choreographed by Shawn T. Bible which went on to perform in Manhattan with Shawn T. Bible Dance Company. She was also the captain of Manhattanville College Dance Team where she choreographed multiple jazz and contemporary routines.  Nicole is currently earning her Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. 

Joey Ortolani

Born and raised in Long Island NY, as a competitive student, Joey won many regional and national titles. As a professional dancer, Joey worked for many years for Royal Caribbean Cruises  performing in shows like Louie Van Amstel’s Invitation to Dance, Come Fly With Me, Hairspray, and the original cast of Saturday Night Fever with SYTYCD, and Tony Nominated, choreographer Spencer Liff. Joey has also performed all over the country in Casino’s and regional theatre in shows like The Four Piano Men  & Royalty of Rock & Pop (Palace Thatre, NH),The Spirit Of Christmas (Atlantic City, NJ), Rocket Man (Niagara Falls), CHICAGO(Arts Center Coastal Carolina, SC), How To Succeed…(Theatre By The Sea, RI), and West Side Story(Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, NY). Joey has been a resident choreographer and teacher at Jan Martin since 2012. His choreography and students have won multiple High Score, and Special awards such as Overall Ultimate Crowd Pleaser (Beyond the Stars 2014), Best Production (Access Broadway 2014 and 2015), and Best Choreography (Access Broadway 2015). Joey Is also a trained circus aerialist! You can catch Joey this fall in the Broadway First National Tour of Woody Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway, under the direction and choreography of Jeff Whiting and Tony winner Susan Stroman. Becky Robles

Becky brings to the studio over 20 years of dance experience. Having studied dance on scholarship at the Roger Williams University in Rhode Island and at C. W. Post, she would graduate from Binghamton University with a degree in Business Management. While at Binghamton she continued to dance and was the President of the BU Kickline as well as the International Flag Dancers. She also was a teacher’s assistant for a college level jazz class taught by professional dancer and Professor Fred Weiss. In addition, she has performed at concerts including KTU’s Dance Factory Live with Coro and Tymz2, BLI Rising Stars and was the lead dancer for the opera "Carmen" at the Tri-Cities Opera House. After college, she continued teaching at local dance studios and worked for a children's theater arts program located at St. Patricks in Huntington where she choreographed for the productions of Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, Aesop's Adventures and Stone Soup.

Currently, Becky is a dancer for N.Y.C. Jazz Roots Dance Company under the artistic direction of Sue Samuels. When she is not teaching you can find her performing at various prestigious venues around New York City such as Peridance Center, New York City Center, 92 Street Y, Dixon Place, Manhattan Movement Arts Center, Alvin Ailey and The Works Studio to name a few. More recently she had the opportunity to travel with Jazz Roots Dance to LA to dance at the Tri-Arts Festival and to Japan to perform and teach workshops. Becky is very excited to be a part of Jan Martin Dance Studio and can't wait to share her passion of dance with others!

 

Missy Rubenfeld

Missy grew up dancing at Jan Martin Dance Studio and was a member of the competition team from 2004 until she graduated in 2015. After graduating college she came back to teach dance as she earns her masters degree in Creative Art Therapy. She loves to teach and do all things creative!
